Operating Levels

Contracts are attached to one operating level, organized as follows:

  • Group: this level enables to gather entities/BU (for example for CPA, Chartered Professional Accountant, who manage data for several clients). This level can be chosen to calculate accounting closures or analysis for all attached items (entities and BU). No contract can be attached to a group.

  • Entity: usually corresponds to the company (entity is a generic term used by IFRS). Entity should be defined with a currency (operating currency) and an annual closing date

  • BU, Business Unit: corresponds to a subdivision of an entity. A BU is attached to one entity, but an entity can have several BU attached. A BU should be defined with a currency (operating currency) and an annual closing date. When using BU: to gather lease contracts denominated in another currency than the entity‚Äôs operating one; to gather contracts attached to a BU, a cost center, etc.
